Navigating Changes in Mathematics
You may be asking yourself these questions:
- What do I need to know about the newly revised mathematics TEKS?
- How can I help my campus/district navigate assessment changes due to STAAR?
- How do I chart the right course to ensure success for my students and teachers?
Even amid a sea of change, we continue to focus on creating a strong mathematics program using the appropriate resources and tools to help all of our students learn. Todd Whitaker, education consultant for teachers and principals, will help administrators focus on how to approach and navigate that change; Texas principals will offer insight into how what they have learned from recent achievement can be used to chart new success. In addition, Texas Education Agency staff will be on hand to keep you abreast of the latest updates about the newly revised TEKS and the STAAR program. The one day conference will conclude with Dr. David Molina sharing tools that will help administrators lead campuses in successfully navigating the changes in mathematics. Bring a team to form a plan to guide you through these transitions so that you can help prepare all your students to be college and career ready.
The Administrators’ Conference will be held on Wednesday, July 18, from 9:00 – 4:00 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 1200 Louisiana. Luncheon is provided. Cost is $250 if postmarked by May 15, 2012; $350 after May 15. The CAMT registration fee is waived for those administrators who attend the Administrators’ Conference.
